Al-Andalus Painting Gallery

These paintings in acrylic and metal leaf on paper pay homage to the seven centuries of cross-cultural fertilization between Christians, Jews and Muslims in al-Andalusia, Spain. They have been accompanied by nine “suspended odes,” morsels of poems from the three cultures, illuminated on marbleized mylar.

They have been exhibited at the Borland Gallery in Silverton, Oregon, the Jerusalem Fund Gallery of the Palestine Center in Washington, D.C., and at the Interfaith Community Sanctuary in Ballard, Washington.

Many of the paintings have been sold, but you can purchase a hanging ode, an illustrated booklet about the era, limited edition gicleé prints and cards of several of the paintings, which you can view at Work for Sale.
