The Queen of Heaven

The bride is magnificently robed and crowned with a headdress that may come from Uzbekistan. She carries myrtle as a symbol of her fertility. According to the Kabbalah, the garment or robe which makes visible the divine feminine is Shekinah, The Queen of Heaven. In the same way, the bride is not only the individual and singular woman who will become the partner of the particular man, she also represents and makes visible the Shekinah, becoming the vessel for God’s presence in the marriage union.
